Like the previous project, this app is part of a larger suite of existing tools. Unlike the previous project, when I came aboard in the role of UX Designer this app was in the very formative stages and existed as a fairly nebulous idea.
The team worked the white board to break out the core functionality and initial features. The general idea was for a reference platform that could be engaged as a stand-alone app, but that connected to the other supporting apps within the larger suite of learning tools.
PERSONAS AND SCENARIOS
Although we already knew a lot about the target users, creating realistic user profiles and plausible use-case scenarios for the app was invaluable in defining and organizing the final feature sets and determining its core architecture.

The Math Reference App is stand alone webapp designed to support the Math core curriculum platform for Amplify Learning, a digital curriculum company in New York. It is designed to help middle-school math students quickly reference math related terms, concepts and formulas.
